All the water reaching the Delta is ultimately evaporated and transpired, and does not flow into any sea or ocean. Animals that live here include  bush elephant, African buffalo, hippopotamus, lechwe, tsessebe, sitatunga, blue wildebeest, Angolan giraffe, Nile crocodile, Southwest African lion, South African cheetah, African leopard, brown hyena, spotted hyena, springbok, greater kudu, sable antelope, south-central black rhinoceros, and many more.
